FL-07 Congressional Candidate Bale Dalton Unveils Anti-Corruption Plan

Dalton is running to replace disgraced Rep. Cory Mills in Congress — against a new opponent already facing ethics scrutiny

Sanford, FL – Today, Navy combat veteran  Bale Dalton unveiled a sweeping plan to crack down on corruption in Washington and stop public officials from profiting off public service.

Dalton’s End Extensive Elected Personnel Enrichment Lunacy (EXPEL) Plan draws a sharp contrast with Republican nominee Ryan Elijah, who already faces a House ethics complaint alleging he failed to report details on up to $5.1 million in personal assets. On his qualifying paperwork, Elijah also signed his name and put in writing that he plans to trade stocks as a sitting member of Congress with insider information.

“Our community just rejected Cory Mills after years of ethics scandals because we’re sick and tired of politicians operating under a different set of rules than the rest of us,” said Dalton. “Now, Elijah has already shown that he’ll follow the same crooked code of conduct. If he’s elected, his first day will start with scandal and stock trading. On day one, I’ll work to stop politicians from getting rich while the rest of us get screwed.”

The EXPEL Plan would:

  • Send corrupt politicians to prison.
  • Ban Congressional stock trading.
  • Ban federal employees and elected officials from betting on prediction markets.
  • Overhaul the congressional ethics process.
  • Impose prison time for unlawfully sharing information that compromisesoperational security.
  • Require independent audits of members’ financial disclosures.
  • Strip serious ethics offenders of taxpayer-funded pensions.
  • Outlaw taxpayer-funded hush money.
  • Ban former members of Congress from becoming federal lobbyists.
